KENYA: ‘Let us make Personal reflections on the Work of the Missionaries’, Apostolic Nuncio

H.E. Archbishop Charles D. Balvo,
Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya
 and South Sudan

The
Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya and South Sudan His Excellency Archbishop Charles
Daniel Balvo has asked the faithful to make personal reflections on missionary
activities.
Speaking at
the beginning of a three-day International Missionary Conference at the
Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) on Tuesday 19th in
Nairobi Kenya; the Apostolic Nuncio said that the Church, which is the salt of
the earth and the light of the world, is summoned with special urgency to save
and renew every creature, and in this way, all things can be restored in
Christ, and in Him humanity can compose one family and one people.
He said that
the conference was an opportune moment for personal reflections on missionary
activities; and that the theme Evangelization in Africa: Commemorating and
Redefining Our Missionary Identity, Relevance and Role in the World today

was time.
“All of us need time to step back to reflect on what
direction we are taking in life, on what vision we have for carrying out our
mission and in what way our various activities aid in achieving the goals that
that very mission intends for us,” he said.
He said that
the Decree Ad Gentes (Mission to all
people)
suggests that the Church has fulfilled and continued to fulfill her
role as sent by God to be the universal sacrament of salvation.
The
Conference was organized by among others Consolata Missionaries to mark a
number of important anniversaries and events, among them, the beatification of
Sister Irene Stefani, which is scheduled to take place in Nyeri Diocese on
Saturday 23rd May.
