ZAMBIA: Nuncio Urges Nuns to Seek God in their Services

H.E. Archbishop Julio Murat,
Apostolic Nuncio to Malawi and Zambia
The Apostolic Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi, Archbishop Julio Murat
has called on all the religious to seek God above all things as they serve him
in his mission.
Speaking during a Eucharistic celebration of the silver Jubilee of
Sr. Agnes Kaloza and Sr. Virginia Chanda of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters
of Assisi on Saturday 9th May 2015 at Mary Immaculate Parish in
Lusaka, the Archbishop urged all religious to emulate the life of St Paul.
“God calls who he wants when he wants; He calls the little ones in
order to confront the strong, he said. “Whoever is called and listens to the
irresistible voice of God leaves everything which for the world can be
considered unimportant gain.”
He encouraged the two sisters to continue listening to the voice
of the good shepherd and remain united to him. “Today, as you renew your
commitment get back to the first love; be faithful as you have always been up
to now, and until the end when the king of kings, the Lord of lords will give
you eternal life,” he said.
The sisters are celebrating their fiat to the Lord for the 25
anniversary in the religious life. “ Like [the prophet] Jeremiah, about 25
years ago the sisters also heard in their innermost being this special call and
mission for God and responded to it lovingly and generously,” Archbishop Murat
said.
Present at the celebration was Bishop Charles Kasonde of Solwezi
Diocese, Fr. Lambert, the Minister Provincial of the Friars Conventuals in
Zambia and Malawi, a number of priests, religious men and women, and families
of Srs. Agnes and Virginia.
