New office bearers for Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB)

During
the Ordinary Plenary Assembly of KCCB held at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary
Nairobi from 5th to 8th may 2015, the Bishops elected new
office bearers to coordinate and implement the activities which express the
mission of the Catholic Church in Kenya.

The
KCCB former Vice-Chairman and the Bishop of Homabay Philip Anyolo is now the
Chairman while the vice-Chairman is the Bishop of Ngong John Oballa Owaa who is
also the Chairman for Canon Law National Office. He is assisted by Bishop
Dominic Kimengich.

Commission
for Education and Religious Education is headed my Bishop of Nakuru Maurice
Muhatai while the Vice-Chairman is Nairobi Auxilary Bishop David Kamau
Ng’ang’a, commission for development and social services/CARITAS Kenya is led
by Arch Bishop of Mombasa Martin Kivuva Musonde while the Vice-Chairman is Rt.
Rev Norman Kingoo Wambua.

The
Chairman for Commission for Health is Rt. Rev Paul Kariuki Njiru and the
Vice-Chairman is Rt. Rev Jeseph Mbatia. Commission for Lay Apostolate is now
under the leadership of Rt. Rev Anthony Muheria assisted by Rt. Rev Emmanuel
Okombo. Commission for Social Communications/Waumini Communications Limited is
now headed by the newest Bishop Joseph Obanyi while the Vice-Chairman is Rt.
Rev Peter Kihara who is also the Chairman for Commission for Missions (P.M.S)
with the Vice Chairman being Rt. Rev Joseph Alessandro.

The
Chairman for Commission for Finance is Bishop James Maria Wainaina and the Vice
is Bishop Emmanuel Barbara who is also the Chairman for Commission for Doctrine
and the Vice Chairman is Bishop Dominic Kimengich who is also the Chairman for
commission for Litergy. The Vice Chairman for Liturgy is Bishop Joseph Mbatia.

Seminary
Episcopal Commission is steered by Bishop Maurice Crowley assisted by Bishop
Norman King’oo Wambua. Rt. Rev Cornelius K. Arap Korir is the Chairman for
Commission for Justice and Peace and the Vice-Chairman is Archbishop Martin
Kivuva. The Chairman for Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Sea Farers is
Rt. Rev Joseph Alessandro while the Vice-Chairman is Bishop Virgilio Pante, the
Commission for Inter Religious Dialogue is Archbishop of Nyeri Peter Kairo
while the Vice-Chairman is Archbishop of Kisumu Zacchaeus Okoth. Commission for
Ecumenizm is Bishop Alfred Rotich assisted by His Lordship Emmanuel Okombo.

The
Chairman for Clergy and Religious (Liaison Committee) is Bishop Ireri Mukobo assisted
by Rt. Rev. David Kamau, Ad Hoc commission for AIDS Response Programme is led
by Bishop Paul Karioki Njiru and the Vice Chairman is Bishop Joseph Mbatia.
Chairman for Family Life National Office is Bishop Salesius Mugambi assisted By
Bishop Alfred Rotich. The Chairman of Apostolate to the Nomads National office
is Bishop Joseph Alessandro deputised by Bishop Virgilio Pante.

The
new office bearers have a three year mandate from May 2015 to April 2018.
