TANZANIA: Police Arrest 10 suspected Militants hiding in a Mosque

Tanzanian
security forces have arrested 10 suspected members of the Somali militant group
al Shabaab in a raid on a mosque.

 
Information
released by Police said that the arrest took place on Tuesday night in
Kilombero district, Morogoro region, about 300 km East of the commercial
capital Dar es Salaam. 
 
According to
Police Commissioner Paul Chagonja the suspects arrested at a mosque, were found
in possession of 30 sticks of explosives, detonating cord, a black flag, iconic
to the Al Shabab, military uniforms, masks and swords. 
 
The move of
the Police started after the tip that there was a suspicious group in the Suni
Mosque in Kidatu.  “After the police
arrived at the mosque they requested the leader to order all the people who
were in it to come out so that they can identify the suspects,” he said noting
that it is then the police succeeded to arrest the nine suspects and retrieve
the said items.
