that as the new cardinal is being elevated; all the institutions of AMECEA and all
the people from the region are part and parcel of that elevation. “We really
feel highly honored by the Holy Father and the Universal Church to elevate our
chairman, our Chancellor to this high honor within the Church,” he said adding
that “Elevation of AMECEA Chairman to Cardinal Status also raises the image of
the regional conference-AMECEA.”

virtue of being AMECEA Chairman is also the Chancellor of the Catholic
University of Eastern Africa, will be able to execute all his responsibilities
well including any other duties the Holy Father Pope Francis will delegate him
at the Vatican.
