AMECEA: CUEA signs MoU with IESEG School of Management
The
Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) has signed a memorandum of
understanding with Scientific Institute of Economics and Management (IESEG)
School of Management from Lille, France, on January 12, 2015.
The
MoU initiated by the Faculty of Commerce, will see the exchange of students
between the two institutions, exchange of professors, exchange of
administrative personnel, joint research projects, conferences and publications,
and finally double degree and joint programme development and implementation
among other agreed upon activities conducive to the deepening relationship
between the two partners.

Speaking
at the ceremony the VC, Msgr. Dr. Pius Rutechura noted that strategic
partnerships with institutions such as IESEG are critical for the growth of the

his part Prof. Stephen Murdoch, the Associate Dean- International indicated
that IESEG has been awarded two international accreditations: European Foundation
for Management Development (EFMD), quality improvement system (EQUIS), and
Association to Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

IESEG’s
agreement with CUEA is the first in Eastern Africa and Prof Murdoch noted that
this was critical for even cultural exchanges whereby, ‘we will be able to

School of Management was established in 1964 in Lille, and is one of the main
business schools in France. In 2014 it was ranked 21st in the world by the
International Financial Times magazine. It is part of the Catholic University
of Lille, the largest private university in France in terms of student
population and endowment.

MoU was also witnessed by Prof Aloys Ayako, the Dean, Faculty of Commerce and
Hanane Elkouari, Head of Africa Network, IESEG School of Management.
