ZAMBIA: Pope Francis Appoints Sr. Kayula on Commission for the Protection of Minors

The Holy
Father Pope Francis has appointed Sr. Kayula Gertrude Lesa of the Religious
Sisters of
Sr. Kayula Gertrude Lesa
Charity (RSC) from Zambia to be a member of the Pontifical Commission for the Protection
of Minors.
 
 
Information
posted online by Zambia Episcopal Conference website stated that Sr. Kayula,
RSC, who once worked for Jesuit Center for Theological Reflection (JCTR), is among
the new members chosen from various parts of the world. 
 
Sr. Kayula
Gertrude Lesa will join the other members of the Pontifical Commission in their
next plenary session that will take place in the Vatican on from 6-8 February
2015. The president of the commission is H.E Sean Cardinal O’Malley, OFM Cap.
 
Pontifical Commission
for the Protection of Minors is a commission set to advise the Pope on ways to
prevent abuse and provide pastoral care for victims and their families.
