ZAMBIA: Oasis Forum warns of Corruption and intra-party conflicts that threaten democracy in the Country
The alliance
that established for the purpose of promoting good governance, democracy,
constitutionalism, rule of law, transparency and accountability in the nation; ‘Oasis Forum’ has warned of the
corruption and intra party conflict that have rocked some political parties in
the Country.

“We
lament at the failure of political leadership in Zambia today. There is far too
much hypocrisy and rhetoric. It is for this reason that there is no evidence in
the fight against corruption”, read the statement adding that “These are
mere symptoms of a fundamental failure by the same political parties to develop
their constitutions as well as to respect them.”

They urged the
Zambian people not to tolerate the assault against democracy and the
disintegration of the rule of law. “Zambia is going through a critical
transitional period which everyone should support it in order to come out of it,”
concluded the statement concluded.
