closing ceremony of the Golden Jubilee symposium, the Amharic translation of
‘The Joy of the Gospel’ was launched and Cardinal Sandri presented it to all
the delegates of the Eparchies, Vicariates and Pastoral Agents of
Evangelization who participated in the symposium.

Celebrations at the Nativity Cathedral, that was also attended by all the Bishops and the Parish
Priests in Addis Ababa.

Homily Cardinal Sandri said “I am pleased to be celebrating Mass today in the Ethiopian
Rite. As prophesied by David that ‘Ethiopia will stretch her hands to God’ I
can see that you are stretching your hands to pray with your brothers from the
Latin Rite. But we must make sure we don’t always stretch out our hands to ask but
also to praise and thank God for all the Divine gifts we receive.”
