Recalling the extraordinary synod on the family
held in Rome in October this year, Christine applauded the unity of African
Bishops who came up strongly against same sex marriage. “This demonstrated the
strength of the Church in Africa,” she said.

Christine also said that she is against new expressions
adopted by UN and other international agencies where they have changed some of
the traditional words, like spouses, couples instead of husband and wife; reproduction
which is basically meant for animals for pro-creation –the right expression for
human beings. According to her, African societies should decline using these
words for the benefits of the future generation.

Christine was also grateful for the partnership
which they have with the Church in Africa. Their visit to some of the dioceses in
Tanzania demonstrates the strong collaboration that has existed for a long time
with the Church in Africa.
