the religious women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA) to celebrate their
heroic works in the region.

said this 20th August at Andrews’s motel, where the Religious Sisters
are having their plenary which started on 16th August.

While giving
a presentation on Transparency, Leadership, Accountability, Financial Management
and budgeting, Mr. Fredenburg commended the religious women for their commitment
and hard work. He said there was power in meeting together to discuss developmental
issues.

that the sisters do is tremendous”, he said. “The opportunity in meeting
together these few weeks is to celebrate the work that you do in the church and
find ways in which you can talk about what you do,” he told the sisters.

Mr. Fredenburg
reiterated that CRS will continue supporting the religious women involved in
hospitals, hospices as well as those taking care of vulnerable children. He
also said that CRS will support the sisters in research, capacity building and other
developmental projects.

that CRS has been working in the ACWECA region for over 10 years.

Speaking at
the same occasion, ACWECA chairperson, Sr. Margaret Aringo thanked CRS for
empowering the sisters with tools for capacity building. She said this would
strengthen their associations and congregations.

Over 150 delegates
in the ACWECA region are gathered for the 16th general plenary
assembly in Lusaka from 16th – 29th August.
