SOUTH SUDAN: AMECEA/USCCB to conduct Capacity Building Training for Sudan Catholic Bishops Conference

AMECEA in
collaboration with United States Conference of Catholic Bishops plans to carry
out Capacity Building Workshop for senior management staff from all the Catholic
Dioceses in both Sudan and South Sudan.

According to
Ms. Christine Mbugi, Coordinator of the AMECEA/USCCB Capacity Building program,
the workshop which is scheduled for 19th to 23rd August
2014 at Nile Beach Hotel in Juba, South Sudan will be having over 40
participants from all the Diocese of the Conference. 

Ms. Mbugi
will be accompanied to Juba by a team of experts from the Catholic University
of Eastern Africa (CUEA) who will be the main facilitators of the training and Rev.
Fr. Chrisantus Ndaga, Coordinator of AMECEA Social Communication who will be
representing AMECEA Secretary General Fr. Ferdinand Lugonzo.

CUEA will collaborate
with the Catholic University of Sudan, which has also been mandated to facilitate
some of the topics.

Among the
topics to be presented are Strategic Pastoral Planning, Investment in the
Church Institutions, Leadership and management in the Church institutions and
strategies of peace building. All the above topics will be facilitated by CUEA,
while the Catholic University of Sudan will tackle Social Pastoral
Communications.

Sudan
Catholic Bishops Conference is the third in the series to receive Capacity
Building workshop for senior management personnel from the Dioceses. Other
conferences which have received similar training are Episcopal Conference of
Ethiopia and Tanzania Episcopal Conference.
