MALAWI: AMECEA Delegates called to Remember the Victims of Wars in the Region

the message signed by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of
the Peoples His Eminence Fernando Cardinal Filoni and read by the Apostolic
Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi, His Excellency Julio Murat at the opening ceremony
of the 18th AMECEA Plenary Assembly said AMECEA should not forget
that there are still suffering people from conflicts and wars which hinder
missionary activities and the promotion of human development in the region.

Cardinal
Filoni called the attention of the delegates to the forthcoming Synod in Rome
in which the Holy Father has asked the people, through prayers and reflection,
to discover the fundamental Christian Values of the family.

to the Second Vatican Council, Cardinal Filoni stated that the document reminds
them that “The family is, so to speak,
the domestic Church. In it parents should by the word and example, be the first
preachers of faith to the children.”

further, urged the church in AMECEA region to continue preaching the Gospel to
all, in all places and on all occasions without hesitation, reluctance or fear.
