Bishop Renatus Nkwande
The Catholic
Bishop of Bunda Rt Rev Renatus Nkwande has said that the Church will always Defend
the truth regardless of disagreement it might be experiencing from some
circles of the society.

Bishop Nkwande
was speaking with PMS guardians and formators during the Holy Childhood annual Conference
that was held in Tunduru Masasi from 13th to 16 June, 2014.

He said that the
Church will continue to be firm against immorality and other social evils which
go against the values of the Church and God’s Plan.

“The Church
will never change its stance against same-sex relationships, abortion and all
that is

not pleasing God’s Plan” he said. The Bishop further said “These are
the result of the failures of parents and guardians to bring up children according
to Catholic Values.”

During the
same function, the Archbishop of Songea, Most Rev Damian Dallu, who is also the
Chairman of Pontifical Societies in Tanzania, has asked the children to make a better use
of their God-given knowledge so that their knowledge could benefit the whole
society today and in future.

“Every child should spend well his or her
time and knowledge given by God for the prosperity of the Church, the country
and the society and not otherwise,” he said.

Archbishop Dallu
said that the society expects that after this conference will help our attitude
towards children for the better. He said, “Children are not only the
society of tomorrow, but of today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow,”
said Archbishop Dallu adding that “For this reason, protection of children,
provision of health care and education to them will build the way the society
of tomorrow will become.”

Speaking at the
event the President of the Episcopal Conference Tanzania (TEC) Bishop Tarcisius
Ngalalekumtwa urged the children to pray and be ambassadors of Peace in the
world. “Children should pray hard so that God may save the world and the challenge
of peace as it has been experiencing,” he said.
