SOUTH SUDAN: Apostolic Nuncio Submits his Diplomatic Credentials to the President

Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan and Kenya, His Grace Charles Daniel Balvo on
Wednesday has submitted his diplomatic documents to the President of the
Republic of South Sudan, His Excellency Salva Kiir on Wednesday 18th
June 2014. 
 
Information
received from South Sudan said Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo said his visit
to Juba was purposely done in order to submit his diplomatic documents to the President
so that he may officially be confirmed as Apostolic Nuncio to the country.
 
The
Apostolic Nuncio said that Pope Francis is very much concerned about the
situation in South Sudan, urging the government and the opposition to embrace
peace to allow people to return to their homes and continue with their farming
activities.
 
The
Archbishop also urged the Church to continue taking leadership roles in order to
ensure that peace is obtained in the country through dialogue.
 
He also disclosed
his plan of visiting the Catholic Dioceses of South Sudan in the near future.
