TANZANIA: Catholic Communicators asked to Reveal the Truth about God.

Titus Mdoe has challenged the Communicators to adhere with their Media Ethical
code and speak the truth about God. 
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the
Tanzania Episcopal Conference’s Communication workshop cum Annual meeting of Diocesan Directors of Communication and Radio held at Kurasini Centre, Dar es Salaam from 13-15 May, Bishop Mdoe said that one of the
challenges in the communications industry is the inaccuracy of the reporting. “Some
journalists use the media to mislead the community about God and life in general,”
he said.

Bishop Mdoe who was a guest of honor at the
meeting explained the importance of the media in society and the church. “The
church should use these existing opportunities to convey the truth in society,”
he said.

“It is a fact that communication is the
heart of the Church, even Christ Himself was a communicator per
excellence,” he said adding that ” The Church should use all communication
opportunities to spread the truth about God and so Evangelize the society,” he
said.
In his welcoming address to the participants
the TEC Pro-Chair of Communication, Rt. Rev. Rogath Kimaryo ,CSSp said that Media and the Church should work together in order to provide answers to the
challenges that engulf the society.
He said that the role of the Catholic media
is that of preaching the Good News to the society. 
He also asked the participants to be innovative and creative while excercising their responsibilities in order to give challenge to other media practitioners.
