The Holy Father Pope Francis on
15th April, 2014, has appointed Rev. Msgr. Acquirino Francis Kibira of the
Diocese of Fort Portal, as the new Bishop of Kasese Diocese.

Msgr. Kibira is taking over from
Bishop Egidio Nkaijanabwo whose resignation has been accepted by the Holy
Father upon having reached the age limit.

Before his appointment, the Bishop
Elect was a Rector of St. Paul’s National Major Seminary Kinyamasika.

Msgr. Kibira was born on 16th
April 1958 at Kigoto-Bulyansungwe, Kamwenge; Ordained a Priest on 23 September
1984. He holds a Licentiate in Sacred Scriptures from Pontifical Biblical
Institute, Rome.
