that the Lusaka plenary assembly will focus on the theme,‘Go, do not be afraid, and serve’ as part of deep evangelization
drive in the region.

will take place from August 16-29 and will be attended by superior generals and
national secretaries of different religious congregations from nine Eastern and
Central African countries.

“It is
always a big sight to have a large number of consecrated women coming together
for their assembly every three years,” Sr. Okari said.

and 2011, the Plenary Assemblies have deliberated upon 15 themes that have
guided the work of ACWECA countries.

main organizing committee, which comprises of eight sub-committees, had been
meeting every month to review progress.

founded in 1974 and comprises the National Associations of Women Religious of
Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and
Zambia. ACWECA plenary assemblies take place every three years, since 1974,
with the venue rotating from one country to another within the region covering
these countries.
