TANZANIA: Diocese of Zanzibar Celebrates 150 Years of Catholic Faith
The Catholic
Diocese of Zanzibar is celebrating 150 Years of Catholic Faith in the
celebration that will be attended by President of the Revolutionary Government
of Zanzibar, Dr Ali Mohamed Shein, (the Guest of Honor) on Sunday 19 January
2014.

received from TEC Communication Department said all the preparations are set
and the Diocese is expected to host a number dignitaries including Bishops from

the deployment of high level security people who will ensure about the safety
of the participants and that the celebrations go well as planned.

Diocese of
Zanzibar is made up by the Island of Unguja and Pemba and that it has eight
parishes, six are located in Unguja and two in Pemba. The Diocese has the
Catholic Population of 11,600.
