MALAWI: The Holy Father Appoints a New Bishop for Mangochi Diocese

Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy) in Malawi is pleased to announce that
His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima, hitherto
Auxiliary Bishop of Blantyre, to be the ordinary of Mangochi Diocese.

Rev. Stima will be taking over from Rt. Rev. Alessandro Pagani whose resignation
the Holy Father has accepted in accordance to Canon Law Can. 401 paragraph two.

The
Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima, is currently the Diocesan Administrator of the Archdiocese of
Blantyre where he will remain in charge of the Archdiocese until Rt. Rev. Thomas Msusa
takes possession of the Archdiocese of Blantyre.

Rev. Montfort Stima hails from Khomera Village, TA Dambe, Mwanza, Neno. He was
born on 27th December 1957; ordained a priest on 3rd August 1986 at Limbe
Cathedral; appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Blantyre on 24
January 2010.
