SUDAN: Cardinal Announces New Liturgical Books

Sudan Cardinal announced the use of five
liturgical books in the Church. His Eminence Gabriel Cardinal Zubeir Wako who
is the President of Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) issued a circular
that the books include the Divine Office, the Prayer of the Church, the
Christian Prayer, Lectionaries and Missals; Emmanuel Radio reported.

Zubeir in his circular noted that SCBC endorsed the five liturgical books
during the recent plenary meeting in Khartoum. He said some churches and centers
started using the books three years ago.

Cardinal said it was necessary to adopt the liturgical books published by
Daughters of St Paul. He requested dioceses that still use the old books to
inform their Christians, religious congregations and institutions of the
decisions of the SCBC.
