KENYA: Nairobi to Host 12th SIGNIS TV Producers Seminar

The
12th SIGNIS Seminar for TV producers and broadcasters
will be held in Nairobi (Kenya) on 10th-14th May.

The
seminar will be organized in the framework of the Catholic Media Festival, that
has been organized every year since 2008 around World Communications Day by the
Catholic media houses of that African country. The Seminar will be organized
with the collaboration of BEAMS (Bosco Eastern Africa Multimedia Services) and
the Bishop’s Conference of Kenya.

Information from catholictv offices in Brussels to AMECEA secretariat in
Nairobi says the focus of the seminar will be Media for Development. The
issue will be tackled by a keynote speaker in one of the sessions of the
seminar. The “show and tell” sessions will of course be part of the seminar. A
large slot of the programme will be allocated to meeting and sharing with
Kenyan media professionals during the Catholic Media Festival. Some of the
participants of the 12th Seminar could even be asked to facilitate sessions at
the media festival.

Registration
for the Seminar is now open on our Catholic TV website: www.catholictv.tv.
The deadline for registration is May 1st, 2013.

The SIGNIS TV Seminars give the opportunity to Catholic
television producers and leaders to showcase their television channels, newest
productions or multimedia initiatives.

In 2003, in Cape Town, SIGNIS initiated the first of its
seminars for Catholic TV producers. The aim was to build a network to share
capacities, enable co-productions and build a professional community. Since
then, seminars took place in Strasbourg (2004), Prague (2005), Lyon (2005),
Madrid (2006), Bucharest (2007), Buenos Aires (2008), Chiang Mai (2009),
Luxemburg (2010), Costa Rica (2011) and La Rochelle (2012).
