VATICAN: A new Diocese erected in Tanzania

Pope Benedict XVI has erected the Diocese of Ifakara, which its territory taken from the Diocese of Mahenge, Tanzania. Pope Benedict XVI also named Bishop Salutaris Libena as the first Bishop of the Diocese of Ifakara.

Before the appointment Bishop Libena had been serving as Auxiliary Bishop of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
