AMECEA: Secretaries General from the AMECEA Conferences meet
AMECEA Secretariat is organizing a meeting of Secretaries General and other delegates from AMECEA countries to deliberate on the collaboration between AMECEA and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 10th -13th October 2011.
The meeting is a follow up of the “Need Assessment Workshop” organized by AMECEA, USCCB Solidarity Fund for Africa in collaboration with Notre Dame University and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) that took place in Kampala, Uganda from the 1 -2 June, 2010.
The participants will focus on the way forward after the Needs Assessment workshop which aimed at building capacity of church personnel and improving the pastoral governance of the Catholic Leadership institutions, as called for in the Synod of Bishops, II Special Assembly for Africa. AMECEA and USCCB saw that it is crucial that the conferences build capacities in an effort towards the emancipation of humanity and effective mutual cooperation.
The meeting invites Secretaries General of the Conference from AMECEA member countries; Vice Chancellors of the Catholic University around the AMECEA region, Pastoral coordinators and AMECEA Secretariat staff.
