 Cecilia John Akile Soghair

The Catholic Diocese of Wau, all parishes and the faithful have honoured the new Vicar General Fr. Santino Maurino Morokomomo and former Diocesan Administrator Fr. Marko Mangu Odilio for their new and previous services in the Church respectively.

According to Voice of Hope Radio, the ceremony was under the theme: “Keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are”.

The chairperson of the organizing committee, Rita Gaudensio Yankau, said that honouring the two administrators was a gesture of acknowledgement for the effort made by the former administrators of Wau.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director General for the State Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, Ms Ann Daniel stressed that whether one is a priest, bishop, sweeper or a gate keeper, all are equal in front of God because they are serving the same lord.

She thus urged priests to take their service to God in the Church as an opportunity to contribute in building and developing the family of God.

The former Diocesan Administrator Fr. Marko Mongu Odilio was appointed for the office after the dead of late Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak.

He was replaced this year by the coming in of Most Rev. Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla the archbishop of Juba as Apostolic administrator on September 21, 2020, who has assigned Fr. Santino Maurino Morkomomo as Vicar General in the diocese.

The speakers were giving their remarks during the honouring ceremony which took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Wau Diocese.
