TANZANIA: PM leads MPs to Pay the Last Respect for Bishop Isuja

The
Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Majaliwa
Kasimu Majaliwa, led Members of Parliament and other Government Officials to
pay their last respect to the late Bishop Mathias Isuja Joseph, Bishop Emeritus
of Dodoma Diocese, who was buried on April 20th, 2016, at St Paul of
the Cross Cathedral.
Speaking on the behalf of
the President of Tanzania, Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, the Prime Minister said the government of Tanzania is joining the Catholic Church in
mourning the death of Bishop Isuja. “The late bishop has gone
at the time his wisdom is urgently needed for the growth of the nation,” he
said adding that “We will miss him for sure but the government will ensure that
the good works of the late Bishop continue.”
The
President of Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) Rt. Rev Tarcisio Ngalalekumtwa
said that the late Bishop worked tirelessly the time he was the TEC Chairman of
Finance to ensure that TEC becomes self-reliant.
The Archbishop
of the Dodoma, Most Rev. Beatus Kinyaiya, urged all believers to imitate the
late Bishop Isuja’s commitment to education and development.  “Late Bishop Isuja was not afraid of
death and that is why he was able to prepare himself,” he said. 
The Requiem
Mass was led by Archbishop Beatus Kinyaiya while the rite for funeral was led
by the TEC President, Rt. Rev. Tarcisio Ngalalekumtwa.
