KENYA: Messages of Solidarity to the People of Kenya and the victims of the Terror Attack

Conference
of Religious Superiors of Kenya on Westgate Mall Attack

The
Religious Superiors’ Conference of Kenya (RSCK), representing 67 congregations
of Roman Catholic men ministering in the country, joins with all Kenyans of
good will in rejoicing at the conclusion of the stand-off at Westgate Mall and
congratulates the Kenya Defense Forces and other national security bodies for
the successful operation.
RSCK
joins in prayer with the many families mourning the dear ones who have lost
their lives and with the wounded now recovering. May all Kenyans continue to
exercise the spirit of unity and nationhood that has shone out so clearly in
recent days.
RSCK
urges the Government to continue to ensure that peace is pursued in the whole
country and that the dignity and rights of all citizens are upheld, in a spirit
of justice and equality for all. May such events never again strike our country
and may inequities be overcome, so that all may grow and prosper in the peace
that only God can give.

It
is with fear, emotion and great sadness that we followed the shooting and

Kenya has experienced the worst terrorist attack since the attack against the
U.S. embassy in Nairobi in 1998, which killed 200 persons.
