Tanzania: TEC Organizes Pilgrimage to International Historical Sites.

The
Tanzanian Episcopal Conference (TEC) organized a two
weeks pilgrimage for the Clergy and Faithful as part of the activities of the
Year of faith.
Information
received from TEC indicated that the pilgrimage took place from 2-16 July 2013
whereby a group of 41 Catholics including Clergy, Religious and Lay faithful
from different dioceses of Tanzania left Dar-es-Salaam for Rome, Lourdes
(France) and Holy Land.
In
Rome the pilgrims visited important historical sites such as St Peter Basilica
in the Vatican; St John Lateran, St Paul Outside the walls Basilica. The group
also had a chance to visit Vatican gardens.
From
Rome they went to Marian shrine of Lourdes (France) where they stayed for three
days.
The
group then headed to the Holy Land where they visited the historical sites of
Nazareth, Galilee, Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
The
New TEC Secretary General Rev Fr Raymond Saba who accompanied the pilgrims said
that in all the places they visited they were well received and hosted and that
they had a thorough description of the sites for which they were very grateful.
After
returning Fr Saba has urged the pilgrims to reinvigorate their faith and tells
the beauty of the pilgrimages in their words and deeds.
