Fr Pikiti was appointed to head AMECEA Pastoral
Department in November 2011 during the AMECEA Executive Board held at the secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya.

Talking to AMECEA newsblog Fr. Pikiti said he is
coming with an open spirit of collaboration with staff at the secretariat in
sharing the pastoral vision of the AMECEA Bishop.

The AMECEA Secretary
General congratulates Fr. Febian in his new appointment and wishes his well in the
course of his stay and dispensation of his new responsibilities.

Meanwhile all AMECEA staff members are attending a planning
retreat in the coastal city of Mombasa Kenya. The meeting which began on 18th
June will run till 22nd June, 2012. According to Rev. Fr. Ferdinand
Lugonzo, the AMECEA Secretary General, the meeting is important because it is
an opportunity for staff to have a planning session for the year ahead, it is
also an opportune moment for the staff to rest and have some relaxation as well
as bond with each other.

Fr. Lugonzo further explained that since AMECEA is
entering the 2nd year of the 17th Plenary, the retreat is
an opportunity for each and every staff member to ask themselves how much they
have lived the spirit and the letter of the 17th Plenary Resolutions,
such that where there are gaps, there are need to move with speed, taking into
consideration the fact that the third year of the plenary will require
concentration on fundraising, planning and actual celebration of the next
Plenary, the 18th Plenary.

Finally he said that there is need to evaluate performance
and come up with action plans as secretariat and as departments. At the end of
this planning retreat, all AMECEA Departments are expected to have clear
defined plans of action for the year 2012-2013 based on the above listed key
reference points.
